Call for Papers

The RSA CEE Conference in Cluj-Napoca welcomes inputs from researchers, policy-makers and practitioners working in all areas of regional development. The conference will offer an excellent opportunity for initiating a multidisciplinary dialogue on themes such as:

2. The Role of Clusters in Local Development 11. Rural Areas Under Pressure (Marginalization & Rural Peripheries/Areas)
3. Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Use in Regional Development 12. Sustainable Transport and Urban Mobility
4. Regional Impacts and Responses to Climate Change 13. Territorial Change: Polarised Spatial Development or Convergence?
5. Environmental, Economic and Social Risks and Vulnerabilities 14. Cross-Border Regions and Transnational Cooperation
6. Geo-politics and Geo-economy 15. Places and Tourism Destination Development
7. GIS, GIScience and Spatial Data 16. Urban/Regional Change and Development in CEE
8. Smart Specialization 17. Developing Cluj: Round Table Discussion

Papers can be submitted for publication in indexed journals as following:

1) the journal Review of Economic Studies and Research „Virgil Madgearu” (indexed by ProQuest, EBSCO, CEEOL) will publish a special number with papers related to sections 2, 10, 15, and 18. The papers can be submitted until 30.07.2017 on the following email address: paula.curt@econ.ubbcluj.ro. For technical information see https://econ.ubbcluj.ro/rvm/en/

2) the journal Geographia Technica (indexed by Science Citation Index, SCOPUS) will publish a special number with papers related to sections 3, 4, 5, 7 and 12. The papers can be submitted until 30.07.2017 on the following email address: rsacluj2017@ubbcluj.ro. For technical information see www.technicalgeography.org

3) the journal Transylvanian Review (indexed by Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), SCOPUS) will publish a special number with papers related to sections 6, 11 and 14. 4) the Romanian Journal of Population Studies (indexed by ProQuest, EBSCO, CEEOL) will publish a special number with papers related to sections 13 and 16. 5) the Journal of Settlements and Spatial Planning (indexed by Scopus, ProQuest, EBSCO) will publish a special number with papers related to section 8. Submission of abstracts: Please submit proposals of papers in the form of a 400-500 word abstract (text only, no pictures, graphs or tables) through the Regional Studies Association online portal by May 23rd 2017. Proposals will be considered by the Conference Programming Committee against the criteria of originality, interest and subject balance.
